WHY 878 Yonge Street?

The 878 Yonge Street Condos are situated in Toronto's Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood, at the intersection of Scollard Street and Yonge Street's southwest corner. The project involves constructing a residential building that will rise 59 storeys high (116 metres) and comprise a 6-storey base podium and a 53-storey tower. The current low-rise commercial structures, with a mix of residential, retail, restaurant, and office uses, will be replaced. The building will have 194 residential units, including 108 one-bedroom units, 54 two-bedroom units, and 32 three-bedroom units, with a total gross floor area of 26,213 square metres. Seven underground parking levels will accommodate 189 vehicles, with 168 spaces designated for residents and 21 for visitors. The building will also have 196 bicycle parking spaces, including 176 long-term and 20 short-term parking spots. The indoor amenity space is proposed to be 1,798 square metres, while the outdoor amenity space is 426 square metres. Furthermore, the project includes incorporating the Frank Stollery Parkette, located north of the site, in the redevelopment plan.
