What can be more boring and tiring than cleaning the floor in your home? Sometimes we just have to force ourselves to do it, but thanks to the robot vacuum cleaners we can suffer no more. They appeared on the market just a few years ago and already managed to gain the popularity and love of people. Robotic vacuums work without needing a human control. They have sensors that allow them to navigate in different spaces, even under the couch.

A robotic vacuum cleaner (robovac or RV) can become a real plastic helping hand for you and your family, the only thing you need to do is to choose the right model for your home.

One of the primary things you need to consider is the robovac's price. Undoubtedly, even the most expensive robovacs are not able to replace a real human being. The сleaning potential of a robot vacuum depends on its power and quality of the sensors. The expensive models have a lot of options and modes, a high-leveled autonomy and they do look good. The cheap models often don't have all these qualities at once, so if you want to make it smart, you have to do some research.

Some models are designed only for a specific type of the floor covering. Working on the wrong surface can cause problems either with the robovac or with the floor itself. For example, a robovac made to clean the solid surfaces will not work properly on the carpet, and a roovac for the high-pile carpets is not suitable for the parquetry. The filters of the RV also worth paying attention to, otherwise all the dust it collects will once again be in the air. The noise the robot vacuum cleaner makes while working can also become an important factor in the choice. You can find information about the noise level in the manual or ask the manufacturer's representative.

The capacity of the RV's battery is also quite important since it determines the operating time of the device. Usually, the operating time and the area a robovac can cover on a single charge are stated in the manual. Almost all robot vacuums designed to automatically return to the docking station for recharging.

Today, the owner can manage the robotic vacuums via his/her smartphone. Still, some models do not yet support this feature. Instead, they can be managed by the remote control. The owner of the robovac can set different operation modes suitable for different purposes, such as “eco mode”, “night mode”, “turbo mode”, etc.

Robovacs differ in size, shape and weight. Big ones have large dust bins and capacious batteries, but they are rather slow and bulky. Small robovacs are fast and nosy, but the capacity of their batteries and dust bins is lower than of the bigger versions. Most of the robovacs have a round shape and a diameter of 3.5 to 14″, but there are also robovacs of other different shapes and sizes.
